Literature Text

I try to make sense of words and time,
But all is lost between the lines.
The eyes of a child are brightly lit,
Tearing up songs that make sense of it.
Those eyes go dry along the line.
A fool's mind reasons that it's fine,
But many thoughts go far away,
So many things they could not say.
Dead falls this hope and creative force,
Replaced with fear, regret, remorse.
Those eyes still see the whole of time,
But meaning's lost between the lines.
On the wall, the clock, it ticks and winds,
Devouring with time the greatest minds.
That steady pulse, it mocks the hour.
Many a thought goes spoiled and sour.
Suddenly, one child sees the truth.
The world's a mind that's gone uncouth.
She looks up into the vast night sky.
Instead of just seeing, she wonders, "Why?"
A key unlocks that vast little room.
Songs rushing back, the flood consumes.
She sees so many words in time,
Forever lost without a rhyme.
Without those tears that magnify,
Away so many dreams did fly.
A laughter filled her heart and mind.
Among the tears, it made them shine.
But still she wondered of words and time,
That all got lost between the lines.
She knew a child who'd seen the same.
Her lyrical voice made words all tame.
She looked into that child's eye,
And said, "You remind me of the night sky."
The child replied, "We're all the same,
I've owned this life forever, I'll always remain."
She laughed and cried at the same time,
At this brilliantly lucid paradigm.
She looked again at the night sky,
One star was strange and she wondered why.
It didn't seem like all the rest.
The wonder welled up in her chest.
She wondered of that strangest shine,
How much was lost between the lines?
She didn't see as others did.
They hadn't since they all were kids.
The colors flowed into her eyes.
The sounds soared up into the skies.
To many, how tiny things did seem.
Her eyes, they never lost their gleam.
The world was seen for what it was,
What it could be, had been, never was,
What shouldn't be but still remained,
Rebelling, refusing to be tamed.
"You have always been and always will be,
But only for a short time," to the child said she.
The child looked into the star,
And knew why she did not feel so far.
But the night was drawing to an end.
Bright golden light the sun did send.
She said, "Dream of everything tonight,
That is or was or ever might."
The child replied, "Sweet dreams, cherie."
Paused, then added, "Dream of me."
Thinking on all the thoughts she'd had,
She simply said, "I always have."
And at long last, she saw through time,
And everything lost between the lines.

A poem I wrote about my recent epiphanies. It means a lot to me, but I would still like an honest opinion. I am very proud, but my pride might block my judgement :3
